Fundamental guarantees for the victim and the accused in a Jury Trial

Based on Article 474-A of the Brazilian Code of Criminal Procedure, this article aims to discuss and test the tension between the fundamental guarantees of the victim—such as the protection of privacy, private life, honor, image, and even the right to be treated with respect during the proceedings—and the recognized constitutional guarantees of the accused, especially those aimed at challenging the prosecution's version, whether partially or fully.
