Sobre “visualizar a verdade do genocídio”

reflexões sobre whakapapa e descoberta da epistemologia do Sul, ocasionadas por um álbum esfarrapado do nomos do holocausto

Resumo

Em entendimentos comuns, o Direito Penal Internacional moderno é fundado no Tribunal Militar Internacional (TMI) de Nuremberg, no qual imagens e relatos do genocídio dos judeus foram apresentados; além disso, a Convenção do Genocídio posterior é filha de Lemkin, que aborda algumas fraquezas dos procedimentos anteriores. Em contraste, este artigo argumenta que Nuremberg não fez justiça nem permitiu que as imagens do Holocausto fossem vistas sem mácula; foi, em vez disso, uma operação que reforçou o nomos estabelecido no qual o poder falava pelos judeus e os descrevia. Contra as narrativas dominantes, este artigo oferece um exercício de epistemologia sulista, um kōrero, ou endereço que trabalha em tikanga Māori, uma compreensão e modo de desempenho que foi quase destruído nos genocídios do colonialismo. Neste korero, o mana da autoridade acadêmica é derivado de whakapapa, ou herança, portanto, um conjunto interativo de reflexões é oferecido centrado em um provérbio Māori, um álbum de imagens e um trecho de um romance, a saber, O Leitor; juntos, eles são pontos focais em cenas de reflexão e levam a diferentes relações de responsabilidade acadêmica, profissional e leiga em relação ao genocídio.
