What and how we look: study on prison research authorized by a Prison Services’ Research Ethics Committee

This study demonstrates how the analysis of research projects evaluated and performed within the prison system is a helpful tool for understanding the criminological gaze. Hence, two hundred projects submitted to the Research Ethics Committee on Penitentiary Services of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, over the course of a decade (2012–2021), were examined.
