Abstract

The text examines the visuographic recognition of the crime scene, a police investigation method that, starting from observation, logic, experience and auxiliary sciences, reconstructs the whole from a fragment, graphically translating the monitoring of circumstances and facts, from the motivation of the offense to its outcome. It analyzes the observation of the internal and external scene, the sketch, the photographing, the weapon used, the corpse and the witnesses, as well as the use of semiotics, heuristics, statistics and probabilities in outlining the criminal's psychological profile. It concludes that recognition, applied to the crime scene, contributes to the investigation of the fact and the establishment of authorship, constituting a further step in the search for the real truth.
