Abstract

The article presents the seminar The various faces of violence, organized by IBCCrim, aiming to participate in the national debate on violence and fear in Brazilian society. The exposition understands violence as social production, not as an element outside culture, and argues that socialization toward violence permeates all human relations, leading to its unconscious reproduction. The investigation gathered thinkers from different areas, in thematic panels followed by debate, addressing urban life, the media, social inequality, violence in rural areas, and experiences of peripheral communities. The conclusion highlights the role of legal professionals in the democratization of society.
