A violência sob a perspectiva da saúde pública

A violência como problema de saúde pública permite a criação de uma nova estratégia para seu enfrentamento. Esta estratégia parte da definição do problema, da identificação da sequência causal e dos fatores de risco e da formulação das possíveis intervenções. O texto descreve a experiência de Cali, Colômbia, onde o Programa DESEPAZ (Desarrollo, Seguridad y Paz) logrou uma redução impactante dos índices de criminalidade, centrando ações no fortalecimento da cidadania, desenvolvimento social e corresponsabilidade de todos os segmentos da sociedade.
