Resumen

Este artigo explora a constituição da Criminologia Cultural como uma matriz de perspectivas compreensivas que emerge da Criminologia Crítica, indagando quais seriam as suas possíveis contribuições para o desenvolvimento da Criminologia Crítica brasileira, bem como enfrentando os argumentos contrários a essa possível interlocução. A problematização também inclui uma discussão sobre o lugar da Criminologia Cultural no debate sobre o Norte / Sul Global e o possível diálogo com as premissas decoloniais contemporâneas, que podem enriquecer a própria Criminologia Cultural. A metodologia adotada é de uma revisão bibliográfica da literatura pertinente, que inclui a Criminologia Cultural e também a literatura criminológica crítica clássica que ela incorpora, revigora e reinventa. Em conclusão, é argumentado que o estado da arte da Criminologia Cultural ilustra o quanto é importante que a Criminologia Crítica brasileira incorpore os seus subsídios no que forem pertinentes para o desenvolvimento do pensamento criminológico crítico local comprometido com a resistência engajada contra o avanço autoritário. Finalmente, no que diz respeito ao debate sobre o Norte e o Sul Global, é fundamental que as perspectivas críticas da criminologia se unam no Brasil e no mundo contra o adversário comum, representado pelas criminologias positivistas e administrativas que causaram e continuam a causar danos com sua política punitiva de assessoria e fundamentação das arbitrariedades do sistema penal no contexto contemporâneo da modernidade tardia e do capitalismo global.

Biografía del autor/a

Dr. Salah Hassan Khaled Junior, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande - FURG

É doutor e mestre em Ciências Criminais (PUCRS), mestre em História (UFRGS) e especialista em História do Brasil (FAPA). Possui graduação em Ciências Jurídicas e Sociais (PUCRS) e graduação em História (FAPA). Atualmente é professor associado da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande - FURG, ministrando as disciplinas de Direito Penal I, Criminologia, Sistemas Processuais Penais e História das Ideias Jurídicas. É professor permanente do PPG em Direito e Justiça Social - Mestrado da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande - FURG e ministra a disciplina Justiça Social e Sistema Penal. Autor de dezenas de livros de Direito Penal, Processual Penal, Criminologia e História, bem como de dezenas de artigos publicados em revistas científicas e capítulos de livros. Suas pesquisas foram retratadas em veículos de mídia como Estadão, IstoÉ, O Globo, Galileu e Revista Quatro Cinco Um. Participou na condição de especialista em audiências públicas na Câmara dos Deputados sobre o NCPP e sobre a relação entre mídia e violência e palestrou nos mais importantes eventos de Ciências Criminais do país, como o Seminário Internacional de Ciências Criminais (IBBCRIM) e o Congresso Internacional de Ciências Criminais (PUCRS). É fundador e presidente do Instituto Brasileiro de Criminologia Cultural.

Dra. Eleni Dimou, Open University

Dr. Eleni Dimou joined the Open University as a Lecturer in Criminology in January 2018. Before that, she worked as a Research Assistant with Dr. Deanna Dadusc on the project: ‘Contested borders: Refugees’ solidarity structures, networks and social movements in the Netherlands and Greece’, which seeks to draw international comparison between refugees’ experiences and solidarity networks in Athens and Amsterdam. Prior to this she worked as a Lecturer and Assistant Lecturer in Criminology at the University of Kent for eight years.
