Criminology and intersectionality: the intersectional criminology as a new criminological approach

The scope of this study is to understand how intersectional criminology, as a new theoretical-methodological approach to the criminological sciences, is able to contemplate, in a more fruitful way, the link between violence, crime, the criminal justice system and subjects who have multiple social markers of difference in their identities. Thus, contrary to the critical criminology of the 1970s that gained notoriety only to the class prism, the intersectional criminology of the 21st century emerges as a potent criminological approach, since it is able to contemplate those subjects who have greater vulnerabilities in their lives due to the congregation of different social markers of difference.
