Abstract

The text seeks, in an inductive procedure, to analyze the various cases of euthanasia from the point of view of their criminal-law relevance. The author endeavors not to restrict the argumentation to a merely technical-dogmatic dimension, discussing the issues also from a point of view external to the legal system, with doctors, theologians, philosophers and politicians. Finally, cases that, without being euthanasia, are quite close to it are studied, such as death given to a sick newborn and the so-called "lives unworthy of living".
