Inspired by the experience-based method, this article describes the supervised activities developed in the academic course Criminal Execution in 2016 and 2017, as part of a supervised teaching internship. The course focused on the study of penal enforcement in the Brazilian system, and the tutoring project, which complemented the theoretical classes, sought to explore various discussions on criminal and penitentiary policy. Throughout the supervised activities, active teaching methods were extensively used, and the course concluded with a workshop on practical play. Reflection on measures aimed at respecting human dignity within prisons by future legal practitioners was one of the greatest gains of this enriching experience. In turn, for the authors, the connection with academia was strengthened and their understanding of the political and social responsibility of teaching deepened.
