The political-criminal language of extermination
similarities between the LTI and the Bolsonaro administration

The current political discourse, aligned with the Bolsonaro government, shares with Victor Klemperer's “LTI: The Language of the Third Reich” the use of linguistic manipulation as a tool for social control. Both use the distortion of meanings, the simplification of language, and the repetition of slogans to shape public perception and weaken critical thinking. Such practices result in discursive impoverishment that favors the adoption of punitive and authoritarian policies, as exemplified by the “Anticrime Package.” Resistance to this process requires the recovery of language as a space for reflection and the promotion of a democratic and humanistic narrative in the criminal field.
