Abstract

Bill 3,045/2022 has just been approved by the Federal Senate without relevant debates and changes, maintaining the police under the control of the army, in the opposite direction of demilitarization. There was also presented the Constitutional Amendment Bill 57, which suggests that Municipal Guards should be turned into Municipal Police. The society must pay attention on these recent legislative proposals and discuss the paths of public policies in Brazil.
