Abstract

On several occasions, the Brazilian Institute of Criminal Sciences has expressed its views on the subject in this editorial space (Bulletins 216 and 226), reaffirming its commitment to respect for the Constitution of the Republic, the clear separation between religion and the state, as well as its concern about the political-religious fundamentalism that hinders the discussion. The Institute constantly seeks interdisciplinary dialogue, promoting debates and events to discuss the issue, as well as numerous publications on the subject and joining as amicus curiae in the important ADPF 442, including a public hearing held at the Federal Supreme Court.
