The constitutional process model demands infraconstitutional rules to be interpreted in order to give maximum effectiveness to constitutional rules. Thus, § 1 of art. 222 of the CPP must be interpreted in conformity with the Constitution to ensure that the defendant is only questioned after all testimonial evidence has been produced.
