the deterioration of the relationship of trust between society and the police in the Pará Amazon

This research examined how police abuse of power affects public trust in the police institution in the Amazon region of Pará. A literature review on police violence in Brazil was conducted, along with a mapping of the research field, focusing on the Amazon region and Belém. Qualitative and quantitative data were collected, and emblematic cases of abuse of power were identified, highlighting the groups that suffer most from this violence. Finally, gaps were identified in the existing literature on police violence and public trust in Pará.
