The new Anticriminal Organization Law and criminal organization databases
critical issues between technological solutionism and racialized policing

This essay critically analyzes the provisions of the new Anticriminal Organization Law that establish the formation of databases of criminal organizations. We adopt a genealogical methodology, based on bibliographic and documentary research and comparative analysis, to question what surveillance models are employed by these databases and how these models relate to policing practices. The research shows that the formation of the criminal body is embedded in a trajectory of discourses and practices that have produced forms of classification, systematization, segregation, and elimination of people and groups considered inferior.
