Recently the Law 14.132/21 introduced the crime of persecution in the Penal Code, also known as stalking, typified in art. 147-A. In a hyperconnected society, there is an increase in the persecutions carried out through the internet, called cyberstalking, also contemplated in the crime of persecution. Thus, the text intends to present some fundamental elements of the social transformations resulting from the increasing technological and media expansion, demonstrating, since the theoretical contributions of cybercriminology and communication theory, how this process has contributed to the redefinition of criminal justice.
