Created in 1993, the Boletim gradually consolidated itself as one of the main Brazilian publications in the dissemination of criminal sciences; at the same time, it became a symbol of IBCCRIM itself. Being a monthly publication, with carefully selected short articles, throughout its more than 27 years of history it has contributed to the rapid dissemination of ideas, often being the gateway to future discussions. However, at some point, it seems that our publication became out of step not only with its own essence, but also with the new form of scientific production required by the Brazilian academic-professional environment: it was necessary to resume its dynamic and updated character, aimed at all those involved with criminal sciences in the national territory; old practices, from times before the "new" digital era needed to be overcome, but without losing the quality and scientificity of the information conveyed. However, how to deal with such issues when talking about a traditional publication, dear to all inside and outside IBCCRIM, but aware that what some time ago was new, young, today is old?
